GENERAL

The following equipment shall be a new West-Mark DOT-406, Aircraft Refueler Tank Truck.

CODE VESSEL: DOT 406. Built to NFPA 407 and 385.

TANK OPERATING  PRESSURE: 3 PSI maximum.

PLUMBING

  • Bottom Load / Recirculation ine; located LH rear, terminating with a pressure gauge, manually operated butterfly valve, and a MIL-A-25896 adapter with tethered dust cap for accepting a standard Single Point Refueling (SPR) nozzle.
  • Top Loading- No top loading abilities supplied. (Available as option upon request)
  • Side Pumping Station, one (1) heavy duty open-style pump platform at roadside.
  • Plumbing, aluminum with low point drains installed.  Victaulic couplings and flexible approved fuel hose used when necessary.
  • Filter Vessel, API/IP 1581 5th edition, Category “M”, Type “S” filter separator with a spring-loaded drainvalve and water slug valve shall be installed. Shutoff valves shall be installed at inlet and outlet of filter.  Air Elimination and Pressure Relief, valve mounted on the filter vessel and discharge back to the product tank.

  • Differential Pressure Gauge, one (1) direct reading differential pressure gauge at control panel w/ purge valve.
  • Hose Reel(s), one (1) air rewind with roller guides and auxiliary crank rewind.
  • Hose Reel(s), one (1) air rewind with roller guides and auxiliary crank rewind.
  • Reel plumbing to have in-line shut-off valve.
  • Delivery Hose(s), one (1) 1.5″ x 50 ft semi-collapsible fuel w/ certified and tested ends for overwing fueling.
  • Nozzle(s), one (1) 1-1/2″ flared aluminum jet fueling with spring trigger.
  • Delivery Hose(s), one (1) 2-1/2″ x 50′ non-collapsible fuel with certified and tested ends.
  • Nozzle(s), one (1) aluminum single point variable swivel Bayonet fueling.
  • Deadman Controls, Pneumatic w/ spring rewind reel located at pumping station for underwing fueling operations.
  • A control panel shall be located at the pumping station with LED strip lighting to illuminate controls and instruction plates.
  • The plumbing system shall have pressure and flow regulating valves w/ nozzle and pump pressure gauges located at the control panel. The nozzle pressure shall be controlled from an air-adjustable regulator located at the pumping station. Flow rate shall be adjustable by switches at the panel that regulate the engine’s throttle to allow “Low-Flow” and “High-Flow” during pumping operations. There shall also be a switch located on the panel to select between “Fueling” and “Defueling” mode(s) as applicable.
  • Meter(s), one (1) resettable with air eliminator, strainer, and large numerical mechanical counter and spit can
  • Nozzle Holder(s), two (2) w/ a latch to hold the nozzle in place during transportation
  • Direct drive PTO w/ provisions to protect the PTO from overspeed.

  • Emergency fuel shut-off switches shall be installed; one located at RH rear and one at pump panel.

  • Unit shall be labeled with the following decals:

     -The word “FLAMMABLE” shall be applied to the rear (if room permits) and each side of vehicle tank.

     -The words “NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FEET” applied to the rear (if room permits) and each side of vehicle tank.

     -Product designation (i.e. “JET FUEL JP-5”) shall be applied to rear (if room permits) and each side of vehicle tank.

     -NATO symbol centered below product designation (i.e. “F-44”)contained in a rectangle at rear and each side of vehicle tank.

  • Type IV, Class I wide-angle prismatic reflective markings as outlined in ASTM D 4956 shall be used for the above decals.  Markings shall be 6″ reflective red alphanumeric characters on 8″ prismatic reflective white background.
  • Emergency switches shall be clearly marked “EMERGENCY FUEL SHUTOFF” in 2″ lettering.  The method of operation shall be indicated by a clearly visible arrow or by the word “PUSH” or “PULL” as appropriate.  Red on white reflective decals shall be used and shall be clearly visible at all angles to the surface being viewed.
  • Front and rear bumpers painted black and 4″ stripes of yellow reflective sheeting (wide-angle prismatic ASTM D 4956 Type IV, Class 1) applied 4″ apart at an incline of 45 degrees from the left and right of the center vertical starting pattern.
  • Placards, four (4) vinyl.
  • Paint, on all carbon steel fabricated parts.
  • One (1) operation and maintenance manual(s) in paper format and one (1) on CD ROM complete with:

  – Operator & Maintenance Manual

  – Calibration Chart (if Applicable)

  – Equipment Parts List

  – Misc. Vendor Literature / Manuals

Any and all Brand Name parts mentioned in specifications above are subject to substitution of an equal part that is of a different brand. Other substitutions may also be made if said substitution does not affect the intended function of the vehicle’s mission and is equivalent or an upgrade as determined by West-Mark. All specified dimensions are nominal and may vary slightly.

Warranty, unit shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ONE (1) year.
